The performance of the Preliminary Assessment stage, in an Area with Contamination Potential (AP) identified and considered a priority in the previous stage of the Process of Identification of Contaminated Areas, has the general objective of identifying facts, evidences, indications or uncertainties that lead to the suspicion of the existence of contamination in the compartments of the environment, generated from a source of primary contamination located within the limits of the area under evaluation.
